Background:
Emojis are an easily-recognisable part of our modern-day, social media interaction. And certainly they are popular with WhatsApp users – who just happen to be one of the highest casualty rates when they let their mobile phones distract them on the roads.
So, I believe these usually innocent little icons could lend themselves very nicely to a road safety campaign – but not in the combinations people usually use them in.
In this campaign, I set up a visual story using emoji-like characters and symbols to warn Qataris of the dangers of driving recklessly.
