A digital-only series from Al Jazeera aims to generate “more of a human story” from veteran correspondents using animation, illustration and other novel storytelling tools.
When it comes to the look & feel of the show, I created this clean and simple setup where we have the episode's guest in front of a white backdrop to avoid any distraction and allow the viewer to focus on the actual story.
One of the distinctive elements in this show is the brilliant animated illustrations which have become increasingly prominent within episodes as the series continues to air, do not simply take the place of unavailable images. They demonstrate the emotion of the story, what the journalist is feeling or the experience that is happening.
