Al Snafeya is A comedy, often a controversial cartoon series, devoted to the Arab people of all ages. It satirizes major political and social events indirectly in a way that appeals to both people with full awareness of what’s happening in the middle east and those who are only engaged in an entertaining cartoon show.
Loosely inspired by The Avengers, Al Snafeya is a team of superheroes from around the Middle East, that fights the Evil Council’s constant trials to control the world.
I was co-leading the creative team that managed the whole process of this series, starting from character development, origin story, superpowers...etc, at the primary stage. Next, I was committed to the look & feel build-up, storyboarding & animatics, until the completion of all episodes.
At the end of the first season, we created a song that served as a cliffhanger for the upcoming season. In this video clip, we introduced a new superhero character with a strong plot twist to building excitement towards the second season, however, it could work on its own as well.
The song was performed and written by the Jordanian Indi band Autostrad, featuring the Kuwaiti rap artist Dafi.
